How To Pick Up Women (At the Gym)

The gym as any place presents an interesting challenge in securing a girls number and just as every situation, great attention must be made to the overall surroundings and the woman that you are targeting. As in every situation, the key to securing the number revolves around not giving any indication to the girl that you are trying to get the number from that you are interested in her. With that brief background, following is how to get a girls number at the gym.

As stated above, the gym presents several interesting and unique challenges when securing a girls number. One of the main potential problems is that if you are unsuccessful, you will still likely see that person again and it could create an awkward situation for the both of you. This is why it is necessary to never, never, never let the girl kow that you are interested in her. The fact that you will see the girl again at the gym also works in your favor in the sense that you have time and can build a relationship / friendship with a little patience.

Another unique challenge the gym presents is the fact that most girls working out are focused on their workout and into their MP3 players, thus you loose the captive audience. I will explain the ways to get around this unique challenge as well. The key to this technique like everything else in life is Practice, Practice, Practice... Now, let's begin.

While at the gym, focus on your workout, however be very observant of those around you. When you see a girl that you are interested in, take some time to casually observe her and take notes, what is she working out, how hard, is she talking to other people, does she have headphones on, what does her outfit look like? All this information will be extremely important when you break the ice.

Remember you are not interested in her, but you are looking for an in to the conversation with her that does not indicate to her in any way that you are interested in her. One of the best ways to first enter into a conversation with a girl at the gym is to work in on a machine with her. But this cannot be obvious! As I said, be perceptive, she happens to be working legs and is moving from the hamstrings to the quads. Coincidentally, it is now your time to do quads.

Calmly stroll over to the machine while she is doing her set. You are not focused on her, but your music and your upcoming set. As soon as she finishes, kindly ask her to work in. For those of you who are not familiar with working in, working in is when you perform a set while she is resting thus in between her set and you alternate with her. If your timing is right you should have a few moments for conversation. Though this time is crucial, remember you are at the gym and if you have seen this girl at the gym before you will see her again, therefore you can be patient. If you have never seen her, you may need to be a bit more agressive with your approach. Only you can make that decision, but make it prudently.

Immediately, when you ask her for to work in with her, you have her attention and she must resspond. You must read this response in order to determine her level of interest in a conversation. This conversation regardless of what happens must remain brief. Remember you have two or three more sets and who knows coincidentally you may be doing the same next exercise. Therefore, after asking her if you can work in and getting an affirmative response, which will happen 95% of the time (if you get a negative response, she probably does not know what working in means and its up to you whether to explain it to her.) Anyways, immediately follow up with a question putting the ball in her court like "Do you come here often?"

You have her captive, she has responded to your "work in" question in the affirmative and now you have given her an opportunity to express if she is interested in conversation. If she responds with a yes and only a yes, compliment her on it, "You look great" or something then put your headphones on and get on the machine. If she responds with conversation, keep this initial conversation brief, because you are in and you want to keep her wanting more. Remember you are not interested in her. Now you are on the machine and she is waiting. Hit your workout hard and focus on your music and your set. When you finish get up and let her do her set. This is a good opportunity to take a good look and make sure that this is truly one you want to make a move on. Also, you are preparing your next question, which will be focused around nightlife and things to do for fun.

When she finishes her set, again you will have her captive again. Ask her what she does for fun or where she goes out? State that you are looking for some new spots, restaurants and if she has any suggestions. No matter what she recommends, you and your friends have been there! Let her know that sometime her friends should meet up with your friends there and have a drink. This is where its tough, because again you are not interested in her but are just being friendly. If she says its a good idea, generally 60% of the time, you are in there.

Do your next set and then say that you will give her a call when you and your friends head down there in order to meet up. Once you get the number, and in future conversations, of course, the friends don't have anything to do with it. What to say in your first conversation will be covered in a later blog.
