Loving What You Do - Steve Jobs - Apple Founder and CEO

I love what and there is no better story than the one of apple founder and CEO Steve Jobs which he shared during a commencement speech for Stanford University. Steve Jobs is a pioneering innovator who continues to lead the technology revolution. With Apple, Mac, the Ipod and now the Iphone, Jobs is the epitome of value.

'You've Got To Find What You Love,' Steve Jobs, Apple Founder and CEO

In his commencement address, Jobs explained that he dropped out of college after 6 months at the age of 17 due to the fact that he wasn't really learning anything of value and his adoptive parents were nearly going bankrupt trying to get him through. When he dropped out he was frightened, however hungry to find what he loved to do. He returned coke bottles for 5 cents to buy food and slept on friends floors, however experienced many things including voluntarily taking a calligraphy course which would shape his future business decisions, including most of the typography found in present day mac and apple computers.

Jobs next talks about finding what he loved and working hard to achieve his vision. Jobs and his partner Woz, started Apple in his parents garage at the age of 20, ten years later it had grown to a $2 billion dollar company with 4,000 employees. Then after a rift with an employee he hired to run the company, Jobs was voted out by the Board of Directors.

Of course he was devastated, however next for Jobs was founding NeXT and Pixar. The technology developed at NeXT is part of Apples new resurgence and Pixar produced he first computer generated animated film. Jobs never settled and loves what he does.

Lastly, Jobs, tells his story of being diagnosed with Cancer and his daily quest even prior to his diagnosis to live every day if it were your last, because one day it will be your last.

In closing Jobs advises his attendees to:

"Stay Hungry, Stay Foolish"

Jobs words and experiences are shared by me in numerous ways. I will continue to do what I love, I will continue to live everyday as if it was my last and I will continue to Stay Hungry and Stay Foolish!

Agreed

Jobs is quite the badass even if he is a little eccentric at times. "Stay Hungry, Stay Foolish" is a great quote.
