Stop Drinking Soda and You Will Lose Weight!

Nutritionists claim over and over again that soda pop is a key factor in America's obesity epidemic. Soda pop is teeming with sugar and provides hundreds of empty calories that do not make a person feel full. Therefore when you drink your soda, you are still more than capable of eating a full pizza.

Empirical Support

According to recent government data, soft drinks account for about 10 percent of the calories of an average American diet. This is absurd people, cut soda out. Soda is "Liquid Candy" and candy is not healthy for us. Why do more than 60% of Americans consume more than 24 ounces of soda each day? I have no idea and as I see my fellow Americans getting fatter and fatter, it makes me sick.

Sweetened drinks are the only specific food that has been proven by clinical research to be directly linked to weight gain. What more information do you need to stop drinking non-diet soda. It makes you fat. You drink yourself fat. Additionally, highly concentrated starches and sugars promote overeating and the preeminent force behind that is sugar sweetened beverages.

History Supports These Facts

Looking at the past, it is evident that with the rise in soda consumption, there has been a drastic rise in obesity. in the 1950's Americans consumed four times as much milk as soda, however today, the ratio is nearly reversed. Supporting this assertion, throughout the past 30 years, the national obesity rate has doubled and among teenagers tripled!

Soda Is Junk Food

When most people think of junk food or sweets, they don't include soda, however SODA IS JUNK FOOD! Sugar filled soda contains zero nutrients and is just useless calories that you do not need especially because you are not burning enough calories anyway. Think of soda as having an extra desert before you eat desert. It's preposterous, so stop drinking it! Start drinking diet, you will get used to it and you will lose weight.

Why Is Soda So Bad For You?

The answer is not so clear as to why soda is bad for you. Some nutritionists state that the high fructose corn syrup or HFCS, which is the sweetener in non-diet drinks is the problem. In fact HFCS has been linked to a chemical chain that may start diabetes.

The unequivocal problem is the tremendous amount of calories in soda. The 32 ounce or extra large soda most often ordered contains a whopping 400 calories. Many ideal diets would make this a quarter of the entire diet for the day!

Another reason is that research shows that hunger does not go down when you consume a beverage as when you consume a solid. Therefore, when you finish your 400 calorie soda, you also crush your 800 calorie burger and 500 calorie fries.

Conclusion

I know the fight against obesity will persist and it is very complicated, however the first step is very clear. GIVE UP SUGARY SODA and replace it with diet drinks and water and you WILL LOSE WEIGHT!
